Strident Media Celebrates International Recognition for Award-Winning BBC Documentaries

We’re delighted to celebrate the continued success of Strident Media, one of the creative businesses based at Ormeau Business Park, as two of its recent BBC documentaries receive international recognition and prestigious festival selections.

“Men of the Manosphere” Named a Prix Italia 2026 Finalist

Strident Media’s BBC documentary “Men of the Manosphere” has been named a finalist at the prestigious 2026 Prix Italia Awards, one of the world’s longest-running international competitions for television, radio and digital media.

The 2026 Prix Italia final will take place later this month in L’Aquila, Italy, bringing together leading broadcasters and producers from around the world.

Strident is the only finalist from the UK and Ireland and their film was selected from over 200 entries from across the globe. 

The recognition highlights the strength of Strident Media’s documentary production and its ability to tell compelling stories that resonate with audiences both locally and internationally.

“Caitlin Hanna: Trafficked in Belfast” Heads to Los Angeles

Strident Media is also celebrating international festival recognition for its BBC documentary “Caitlin Hanna: Trafficked in Belfast”, which has been selected for screening at the LA Femme International Film Festival in Los Angeles next month.

The documentary has also been officially selected for the Los Angeles Independent Women Film Awards and the LA Femme International Film Festival Europe in Budapest.

Adding to an already impressive run of recognition, the film recently won Best Documentary at the New York Independent Cinema Awards and has been shortlisted for the UK's 2026 Anti-Slavery Day Awards.
